Anti-aging compounds = Senolytic drugs

In the last years, many researchers have been interested in developing pharmacological strategies to combat aging. Despite what is extensively advertise by creams, body lotions and many others, Senolytic compounds are the only and real antiaging compounds will revolution the market. These antiaging molecules are not found in cosmetics yet.  Let me explain you, our bodies are conformed by organs that function to provide us an appropriate homeostasis. These organs are structured by tissues and in turn by cells.  Through life our bodies experience multiples turnovers and regeneration which will depend  of our genetics heritage and lifestyle. As we age, our bodies have less and less capacity to perform an appropriate healing or regeneration.

This limited tissue turnover is suggested to the accumulation of aged cells known as senescent cells. These cells have reached a state where they do not longer divide. Unfortunately, great part of these cells correspond to progenitor/stem cells. To combat this, Senolytic compounds can selectively eliminate aged cells improving  the signs of aging and prolonging life.
